hicago recorded the lowest number of new HIV diagnoses in 26 years in 2016, public health officials say. - In 2001, the city reported 1,850 HIV diagnoses, the highest number of cases recorded since 1990, when the city began keeping records on the virus. William Way LGBT Community Center Exhibit honors legacies in the LGBTQ community
In 1986, thousands of people took to the streets of Philadelphia for a vigil mourning those who had lost their lives to AIDS, which killed more than 200,000 people between 1981 and 1992, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They held candles and wore T-shirts emblazoned with the phrase “Fighting for Our Lives.” The shirts were sold to raise money for the William Way AIDS Library on Locust Street near 12th.

The HIV League presents, a World AIDS Day event, The League of Queens!
On Friday, December 1st, The HIV League is looking to celebrate this World AIDS Day in response to how the national HIV Community continues to thrive. What better way to do that than to go to cute, good ol' drag show after dinner and before you go out clubbing in the city? The lovely Kareem McJagger will begin hosting this cute celebration at 10PM with performances from the sensational Tina Burner, and Brooklyn's finest, Kelsey Dagger. One of Hell's Kitchen's most popular DJs, Xavier Mazara, will also be providing music throughout the entire night at the Producers Club Theaters and Bar at 44th St. and 9th Ave., where you can get plenty of drinks throughout the evening.

How combination prevention is combating HIV in London
Data out earlier this month showed the huge success of HIV prevention programmes in London, with new diagnoses declining by 29 per cent last year in gay and bisexual men. Since 2015, Do It London has been promoting HIV testing and safer sex. Its latest campaign moves the conversation on to focus on treatment as prevention, and includes PrEP – which stands for pre-exposure prophylaxis – a pill that can prevent you from getting HIV.

LGBT stars and allies turn out in force for The Virgin Holidays Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar
The Virgin Holidays Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar saw some of the biggest names pack out London’s Roundhouse on Thursday night (October 12) to celebrate the great and good of the LGBT+ community and its allies. Supporting the Elton John AIDS Foundation for a sixth year, the annual awards are dedicated to honouring those who inspire and make change, make LGBT+ lives easier, influence and entertain, or quite simply give us life. Hosted by Olympic diver Tom Daley, this year’s ceremony took on a royal hue when Prince Harry collected the Legacy Award on behalf of his late mother Princess Diana, whose groundbreaking AIDS activism helped to break down stigma when fear surrounding the virus was at its peak. You can check out a full list of Attitude Award winners here, but for now, here’s a look back at all the glamorous red carpet action from the night…
